Ilika Geospatial is a weather-risk analytics company based in Edison, New Jersey. We calibrate long-range weather forecasts and deliver them as probabilities in the units a decision runs on.
The monsoon used to arrive on schedule. It no longer does.
Our founders come from farming families in India, where one failed monsoon can wipe out a year’s income. We could not change the weather, so we built Hawamaan, a free weather app for those farmers, using NASA satellite data. That app grew into Ilika.

NASA’s annual publication of companies built on its technology ran Ilika’s story, “Aqua Solutions for Terra Firma”: how a free weather app for farmers in drought-prone regions of India, built on MODIS data from the Aqua and Terra satellites, grew into Ilika Geospatial.

The Cade Prize for Innovation and Invention, awarded by the Cade Museum for Creativity and Invention, named Ilika among the winners of its 13th annual competition.
NJ AI Innovation Challenge winner.
Winner of the New Jersey AI Innovation Challenge, run with Plug and Play and supported by an NJEDA grant. The work built the probabilistic weather and demand-risk dashboards for utilities, residents, and trading desks that run on this site today.
